Every person is an intricate and unique one-of-a-kind puzzle. One third of our DNA is an enzymatic makeup specific to the individual, so what works for someone else, may not work for you. There is no one size fits all, so your personalized plan will take all the external and internal life factors and previous food choices into consideration. Your health plan should be specially designed for your individual and specific needs and change as your body changes. Holistic health takes the entire body and every symptom as an expression of a condition that carries indirect and important information. ‘Modern Western society and medicine, isolates the symptom and divorces it from its human context.’ A holistic view of the human body recognizes that its functions are affected by a variety of factors, both internal and external, such as food, drink, exercise, emotions, stress and so on. Our individual body parts are all components of an integrated physical being who also exists on social, emotional, and spiritual levels. Why don’t diets work? Because a diet ends, a diet is torture with so many restrictions that keep us constantly thinking about the food we can’t eat-but then, we think about food-which makes us hungrier. As a nutritionist, I offer lifestyle changes with education so you can make health choices for your body and implement small changes for maximum results. Food and eating should be enjoyed and not feared. With choosing to book an appointment with me, before we meet, you will need to fill out 8 pages of forms. By filling out the forms in advance, I get a chance to pre-read them so our time spent together can be focused on the reason for your visit (rather than asking you the information verbally). The First Appointment: 1.5-2 hours. My philosophy is to work with the client and their personal needs and not try to force the client into a pre-setup health plan. As a client, we work together to formulate a new way of thinking about foods and implementing small changes into your daily life that can have maximum results. Sometimes the small changes work the best. As you progress through your new eating regime, with or without an end goal, we need to reassess the program and continually change it as your body and digestion changes. Follow-up appointments are usually from 10-14 weeks after initial consultation. At that time I will do a quick reanalysis and check to see if you notice any changes, any foods that need to be swapped out or are causing digestive problems, energy levels, sleep pattern changes and general moods. Second Appointment: 30-60 minutes. Message me to book a free 15 minute consultation.
